Nissan 200 SX S14
No es un post espefícico del modelo 200sx, es más bien un monográfico de un 200sx impecable e increible.
Dedicado a Def y Soldado. Está en inglés y no hay ganas de traducir tanto texto, pero si sabéis leer entrelíneas os quedaréis con los datos que os interese. SR20DET or KA24-Turbo? That is the question facing many Nissan 240sx owners today. It almost seems like a never-ending controversy between the two sides. SR20DETs are relatively cheap to acquire, and with simple bolt-ons, it can generate significant power gains from that of the KA. On the other hand, KA24 motors have great torque and with precise building and tuning, the motor can put out tons of power. Joe, being the old school player he is, chose to keep the engine that started his love for the 240sx. ![]() Joe built this 240sx from the ground up. The whole project took more than two years. In spite of the current trend to swap SR20DETs, Joe wanted to utilize the engine that was in his S14 already, the KA24. The motor was disassembled and sent out to various machine shops for custom machine work. Both the intake and turbo manifold were custom created by Kiwi fabrication. Once the motor was complete, the car was put on a dyno for further tuning and modification. Joe drives his car hard, so fast that the factory brakes wouldn’t do the job. So he decided to upgrade to 4 piston Brembo brake kit which includes a 13" x-drilled and slotted rotors. Along with power, one should always think about safety. Joe didn’t stop there. He beefed up the suspension by adding fully adjustable Endless B6 Function coilovers, along with all the strut and sway bars from Cusco. The 240 carves turns like a hot knife through butter. This 240 is buffer than Schwarzenegger on crack! ![]() Joe shares some of the same philosophies as Yokomaku from our last Online Showoff feature. Just because you got the go, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have the show! The engine is fully polished from the turbo, valve cover, all the way to the intake manifold. Many bolts and brackets were powder coated to accent the engine bay. As for the exterior of the car, Joe wanted something aggressive yet retaining the factory bodylines of the S14 Silvia, so he went with a full Edge body kit imported directly from Japan. Still not satisfied, Joe modified his headlights with E46 M3 projector headlights that use the HID unit found in the Infiniti Q45. ![]() During the build-up, Joe has put in tremendous amount of time and effort into this Silvia. He also went on a two year instant ramen diet to help fund this project! Just kidding. The ending result is a 240sx that puts out 425 whp, along with a 11.8 second 1/4 mile timeslip. I asked if he ever regretted spending so much energy on his project, and this is what said... "It's all worth it, I just love looking at the faces of those Porsche drivers in my rear view mirror." ![]() ![]() ![]() 1995 Nissan 240sx Exterior: Edge Front Bumper Edge Eyelids Edge Sideskirts Edge Rearskirts Edge Spoiler Silvia emblems, badges Custom BMW E46 M3 Projector Headlight Infiniti Q45 HID "I love Mammoth" Sticker ![]() Engine: JE Pistons Carrillo Rods Port and Polish head Blue printed and balanced ECU programmed by Wolf Full Carbon driveshaft Paxton Fuel Pressure regulator Custom Kiwi SS turbo manifold Custom Kiwi intake manifold Greddy 720cc injectors Greddy Head gasket Greddy Type R wastegate Greddy Type R Blow Off Valve Greddy T67 Turbocharger Greddy Front Mount Intercooler Greddy Oil Cooler Greddy Radiator cap Greddy Oil cap Custom Oil catch can Earl’s lines and fittings NGK Sparkplugs NGK Sparkplug wires Polished valve cover, Intake Manifold 4” Downpipe 4” Custom exhaust piping, Greddy Exhaust ![]() Interior: Bride Zeta II Bucket seat Bride Ergo Passenger seat Greddy 60mm Electronic Warning Boost gauge Greddy 60mm Electronic Warning E.G.T gauge Greddy 60mm Electronic Warning temp gauge Greddy 60mm Electronic Warning Fuel Pressure gauge Greddy 60mm Electronic Warning Oil Pressure gauge Greddy 60mm Electronic Warning A/R gauge Greddy Turbo Timer Greddy Boost Controller Greddy Rebic III Greddy Rebic III Simulator Greddy Remote switching system Custom Carbon Fiber gauge pod Custom Carbon Fiber trim Sparco Steering wheel Sparco Shift Knob Sparco Pedals C’s Short Shifter Custom Suede Interior Alpine 7949 Headunit MB Q Speakers ![]() Wheels/Suspension: Work Meister S1 18x8, 18x10 Rays Anodized blue lugnuts Endless B6 Function Coilover Tein Tension Rods Cusco Adjustable Pillar Mount Cusco Underbody brace Cusco Tie Rod Cusco Front upper strut bar Cusco Rear upper strut bar Cusco front/rear sway bar Brembo 4 Piston, 13" X Drilled/Slotted Brakes Earl’s SS Brake lines ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
